Full course description

National board Candidate Support Program will provide an overview of the NBPTS process. Candidates will learn how the NBPTS foundational documents—The Five Core Propositions and The Architecture of Accomplished Teaching—undergird the philosophy and structure of the certification. Candidates will engage in collaborative process of describing, analyzing and reflecting on these two frameworks, as well as learning how to navigate the NBPTS website. Note: This course is a requirement for embarking on the National Board Certification process, and must be completed prior to beginning any of the remaining regional and certificate-alike meetings.

·         Orientation: Foundations to National Board Candidacy  9 AM-1 PM at Seattle University (Loyola 301) (Attend either on 6/15/19 or 9/21/19)

 

Orientation/Overview for all new candidates: 9:00-9:30, Component 1: 9:30-10:00, Component 2: 10-11:00, Component 3: 11-12:00, Component 4: 12-1 PM

 

Things to bring:

National Board Materials from boardcertifiedteachers.org:   a) Certificate-Specific Component Instructions, b) Applicable Standards. These must be either printed or already downloaded to your device.


You will sign up for regional group via online during the week of September 23, 2019.


Regional Group Meeting in October 2019 in your regional area.
